What could go wrong?

This is probably the most neglected fluid in your vehicle.  And yet, probably the most important when it comes to safety.  Motor oil, engine coolant, and automatic transmission fluid are not the only fluids in your vehicle that need regular service.  Brake fluid is exposed to extreme temperature changes and is formulated to work in these conditions.  Over time, the additives in the brake fluid, which protect the brake system and fluid, break down.  Degradation of the corrosion-inhibitors affects the useful life of the Brake Fluid and can result in component and seal wear.  IF your car is equipped with anti-lock brakes (ABS), fluid degradation becomes more of an issue.  Microscopic copper particles form as the result of internal corrosion.  These tiny particles collect on valves inside the ABS hydraulic controller and can cause the ABS to fail, leading to costly repairs.
